Facebook chat: can’t go online

Well I’m having this problem for quite a while now.
Even though I am online, none of my friends can see me in chat.
I can talk to people, but nobody can see that I’m online..
Anyone knows what the problem could be?

Have you tried restarting your computer?

Ow I finally found out what was wrong. I had selected some groups by accident. Damn how long it took me to figure that out.
