downgrade Vista to XP help
August 8th, 2016
Of course, just get a Windows XP installation disk. You can download an installation from the forum, there’s even a very useful sticky in the Appz section. Just download it, burn it onto a CD and boot it. Since your laptop want built for Vista there are XP drivers available and downgrading is easy enough. Just format your Vista partition and install XP. Good luck mate ^_^

+1 do what this guy says, he is right.
Hi thanks for the quick reply I already have a Xp disc that i downloaded from this forum. I tried installing but i get a message: Setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in your computer.
do i need to download and install Xp drivers first and then insert the Xp disc to install
thanks again for your help
Since you have SATA devices on your laptop you’ll need to install the drivers for them separately. When you boot from the Windows XP Disk and the first file copying process is done you have the option of installing third party drivers. Press F6 and install the SATA drivers. They can usually be found on the Mother board disk. After installing them XP should be able to detect your hard drive. Also, a tip, if I may. Download the drivers for XP before formating your HDD. Then save them on a flash drive or a CD or anything for that matter. That way, installing the right drivers will be easy. Good luck mate ^_^
OK I try that thanks a lot for your help
You’re welcome. If you have anything else that you need help with don’t hesitate to ask mate. Good luck ^_^
well mate i suggest you dont do that
I also have an Hp and their warrenty does cover anything when you downgrade….
Also you can do this, partition your harddrive and make the Vista very small for warrenty purposes also some of your things wont work becuase they havent made drivers for them liek hotbuttons and some other sutff
but you can always try it just visit HP’s website for full detials on what drivers they do and dont have
well if anything ever happens to it, you can always reinstall vista and i guess nothing will happen to the warranty
YEY, and them make your XP look like Vista like I did ^_^
email/call microsoft, they give out free cds for downgrading beacuse people hate vista. Just sound mad though.
To that message error problem:
IF you go into your BIOS, (F10) on startup all you have to do is disable Native SATA Support
I have an problem with downgrading I think my motherboard doesn’t support xp at all
