difference between windows new installation n upgrade

I have bought windows 8 pro…..how can i tell for sure whether the windows is for updateupgrade or for new installation….please advice

It’s very hard to tell..
You can try it..If upgrade..It won’t allow you to a clean install..You need to have Windows already installed to upgrade..

upgrade would “try to” keep all your setting and installed programs etc. They SHOULD work, but cannot 100% guarantee that they will. Clean install is always the fastest option, to have a good clean OS. BUT you will have to reinstall all your programs and setup all your settings.
