Daylight Saving Time end at 3:00AM

November 7th, 2013

Okay here is a stupid question. Daylight Saving Time ends at 3:00AM and the clock is set to go back 1 hour at that time. I have to work from 3:00AM to 8:00AM.
The problem I am having is this. When I go to work at 3:00AM, the time will be set back 1 hour which will make it 2:00AM. That means my work hasn’t started yet. BUT the shift before me, will finish at 3:00AM, the time will be set to 2:00AM and between 2:00AM and 3:00AM (new time), there will basically be no one at work…

it’s the way you gain and lose one hour of sleep

No I won’t, they will pay me for it if I work 6 hours. I just don’t know what time to start. The sound thing would be to just go there start at 3:00AM, the time will be set to 2:00AM but I don’t want to go there 1 hour early.

No I won't, they will pay me for it if I work 6 hours. I just don't know when to start.

This is something you need to bring up with your boss.

This is probably no help but the clocks change at 2am, being wound back to 1am. Have a look …..

Yes, Sunday at 2am is normally when daylight saving starts and finishes.
If you work night shift from say 6pm to 6am, then you work an extra hour that night when daylight saving finishes..
But when you work those hours when daylight saving starts, you work an hour less, so you regain your hour then.
Don’t get the sack in the Greenwich meantime..
