Burning dvds so they’re region free

I’m wondering if there is a software that will allow me to burn dvds region free? I’ve used both windows movies and x to dvd and I gave these dvd’s to a friend outside of the u.s.a. and they are unable to watch them
What can/should I do to make the movies I burn region so they can be viewed by my friend.

It can be done look on Google for programs that may be able to do it try ConvertXtoDVD

Use Convertxtodvd and set the DVD specifications to PAL..
(All DVDs made by ConvertX are region free, however you can select NTSC or PAL and your friends DVD player may only play PAL which could be the problem you are having..)
