Burned Graphics card – Bought a new one, lower performance
August 4th, 2016
My nVidia Geforce Ti4600 burned, so i had to buy a new graphic card. I bought nVidia Geforce 6200, but i am getting lower results.
Example:
With Ti4600 i played PES6 in 1024×800 in Medium Quality without any breaks or stuff. Now, with 6200,with the same options, i am getting breaks all the time, like lag or something.
System:
P4 2,4 Ghz
RAM:512 MB
Any idea?
installed latest drivers?
installed latest directx?
How did you manage to buy an AGP graphics card?
Was it second hand?
Do you play with Anti Aliasing? You should have gone for the 7300 GT though. Anyway, the 6200 should perform better. Check your settings, and update your drivers.
No, it was a new one. A little shop near my home has it. I only bought it because i really need this computer for more 1 month or something, then i will buy a laptop. Drivers and Directx i think is updated. At least Drivers.
Try updating your directx.
You say that ur previous graphics card burned… is there still a temperature problem for your new graphics card?
I used nVidia Control Panel to improve performance, but no results. (7600 GT was not in stock, and i needed my computer today)
Directx is updated: Directx 9.0c.
Temperature i think was not the problem. The computer has almost 7 years or something…i think that every hardware can burn
whats your motherboard?
MSI-845
running out of options here but perhaps updating the bios?
It might add improvments to the later graphics cards
