Burn to blu-ray without a bd drive?

August 5th, 2013

Hi anyone reading this,
I recently dl’d a blu-ray quality concert and purched a bd-re disc so that the whole thing could fit/retain its’ quality.
Long story short, what I thought was a br-drive on my HP desktop was just a virtual drive that DAEMON created.
My question is: is it at all possible to burn the file onto the blu-ray disc and have my computer recognize the disc? any program that would make it a capable feat? or is all hope lost and I just wasted $16?
many many thanks in advance

Nope, you need a blu-ray drive to read blu-ray discs.

Incorrect – you need a bluray drive that can burn discs, as well as read them. (How is the OP meant to burn the disc, other than watch it from a virtual drive ?)
LG make decent ones, an OEM bluray burner for a desktop is about £60
a slimline LG drive for a laptop about £90.
Or you can get external ones, Samsung have a few models, but from experience I would stick with LG.
