Burn a standard dvd

i have been trying to burn a standard dvd from divx/xvid/h264/ and other formats,after conversion and burning ,they will not play on my standard dvd player or a blu ray/dvd player,i have used different conversion software{free and shareware},different burners,different disc types,i know that some dvd players have a problem with rewritable disc,and i said they never play,anyone else ever had this problem and how did you resolve it,would appreciate all who reply,thanks for this great forum

you tried ConvertXtoDVD
the file are ending up in the Video_TS folder ?
also try setting the “book type” to DVD-ROM

Like edwoodweb says, and use a good brand of dvd-r such as Verbatim.
