broken cpu pin

hi just been stung by a seller on ebay its come with a broken pin the boards a xfx 790i ultra the pin in question is e12 it reads as dstbp1# source sync input/output can anyone tell me what it affects and if boards now unusable thanks

Hmm no clue about that one actually.
I think it will just work, because the manufacturers know that it’s the weakest point of the cpu, so doubt they will have strict rules about the pins.
But ofc use @ your own risk, dono what cpu you bought but I’d say get another CPU, because if you take the risk and it fails then you might lose the mobo and CPU.

Its not worth the risk testing the cpu out, the pins are the cpu’s sensitive spot after all thats why theres instructions on why you shouldnt bend them, why not to touch them etc

Ya but the thing also is that each pin has a certain goal, some are for power, and some are for data calculation and such.
If it’s a power pin that it might work just fine.

It will either work or wont. It wont damage anything

That is the problem with second hand deals on trading sites, ask for a refund if you can.
