January 22nd, 2020
i use KIS its great i dont mind the key thing
but the most self suffecient that i have ever used us mcafee
I use Nod32
Avira + Comodo Firewall
Just go with avira free version, does the job perfectly. you don’t need what should be a paid for app to do the job well, freeware is a great thing.
Avira, just keep getting the 1 month keys.. Its better than the free version, since it has no popups =P

Nod32 Kaspersky (you need to keep switching keys every week or so, but still worth it)

Yeahhh, but Rather just have the “paid” version =P Something about a strong business strategy tells me that the free version is as quickly updated as the paid version =P

Avast free home edition. Try it out mate. Running it on my gamer and it’s a great app. They give you a personal key for 15 months before you have to renew. Updates every few minutes automatically and no pop-ups like the others.

Most pirated A/V’s get blacklisted as soon as the pirated keys are available. We aren’t the only one’s on these forums mate.
I buy my A/V for the most part. Way to easy to manipulate the .exe’s in A/V. Just look at the BitDefender disaster this year, lots of folks got keylogged to death and got all there accounts hacked.
Pirating antivirus is lame. There are two things one must not pirate, OS and antivirus. You wanna have a legit OS so you never have to bother with dangerous cracks, and same with antivirus you dont wanna have a keyloger along with crack. If you cant afford an antivirus get freeware. As a matter of fact freeware tends to be better, lighter and more efficient than big heavy antivirus that cost 40 or 60 dollars.
Avira Antivir Personal + Comodo Firewall + SuperAntiSpyware + Malwarebytes = Best freeware security combo.

Quite true, malwarebytes is quite good, i’ve tried before Spyware Doctor Starter Edition or so which was free and is able to update frequently and is able to remove detected spywares, which is also quite good since it has a huge database of signatures.

Spot on!

Yep. You can block the access to avnotify.exe with Comodo’s Defense + , and it should stop the nag screens.
i am really extremely happy with a trial license of eset system security after the trial expires i iwll get another one or see if i could reinstall it.
Use Avira free And disable avnotify (the file that displays the ad when you update) with group policy editor.
go with avast home edition
Thanks the the replies everyone, I think that freeware combo is the way to go. I’ve just always thought the pirated ‘bought’ pieces of software would fully protect my computer than the basic stuff.
Kaspersky & McAfee are my top 2 for AVs .
Bit-Defender Total Security 2010…. Also If You Patch it then the licence will last till 2047 and will never be black listed
