Sorry… I thought you were after a list of his movies..
Ive seen Divx come up at the start of some of them, so I think they are in common formats like divx and xvid..

Yes definitely you might be inquiring about ripping your DVD to DivX/XVid. So follow the tutorial accordingly.

He doesn’t use anything special. AviSynth and VirtualDub most likely like just about everyone else, with a few other commonly used appz. Nothing magical or special.

Google is an amazing thing, I am surprised that you have never heard about it.
Check out the Doom9.org forum as well, there is lots of help and tips in that forum.
AviSynth is a very powerful but requires scripting which can be difficult to use and no result can be seen right away. AvsP editor makes it much easier as you can see the result of your script modifications and know whether it works. Highly recommended and can be found in the AviSynth section of the Doom9 forums.
