Authentication Methods For OpenVPN Client. Unable To Connect

September 6th, 2013

I’m using Real-vpn with OpenVPN GUI v1.0.3. Every now and then after a lapse period of time say 2 or 3 weeks after I’ve had the program installed it stops connecting altogether.. It no longer allows me to connect due to authentication.. It refers me to this page but is to complex for me to understand..

Any step by step help please or maybe write out what’s needed so I can admend the files thanks
I have the realvpn ‘security certificate’ & AUTH File with my username & pass for real vpn in their..
Is this real-vpn just a trail which requires I re-sign back up as it’s happened once before which resorted to uninstall openvpn & signing back up to real-vpn

Answer #1
You do realise that real-vpn is still in beta, so is buggy at times, it could be them not your client.
Answer #2
prehaps but last time this happened it was out for days so I had to reinstall & sign back up then it worked.
I get this

what is the error message after this line?

It is most likely your certificate expired, but there is no real way to tell if you do not post whatever that is after that line.
www.mamakvpn.com has been great for me. They are rolling out access server with no configurations needed.

Probably because Real-VPN have just replaced most of their servers ?
Answer #6
Hm.. do you think they are preparing to switch out to the paid service soon ?

I have no idea, I would imagine they would see how these new servers are for a little while. According to their website, there are just under 75,000 active accounts, so they have a pretty wide customer base to do it.
They did talk about combining the paid service with Real-Debrid (which they also run) so it would be a better deal if you pay for a premium filehost at the moment (although they now cant allow downloading from the Fileserve sites, such as filejungle, uploadstation etc as their a/c’s keep getting banned too quickly).
They are only students, but seem to be investing a lot of money recently, eg. RAM upgrades on their own R-D servers, increasing the number of their servers, so it will get to the point where they have to start charging in order to make both services viable.
