.APK Files and Kindle Fire

August 28th, 2013

I know to rip .APKs to put them on your phone you can use an SD card– but the Kindle Fire has no external storage options.
Couldn’t I still download the .APKs on my desktop, and transfer them over to the Fire while it’s in USB mode?
I’m only asking, as I know that’s obviously possible, but when I’ve searched for .APKs, I also see the option for SD images, and I don’t know exactly how that process works, because I’m pretty new to it all.

Well it would seem that eay. I have a kindle fire as well (I’m actually using it to type this message) and still have yet to transfer any files via Usn, but it sounds legit.

I hear you can side load APKs on the Fire by downloading an APK using the built in browser and then when you tap the downloaded file, a security dialogue pops up where you tap settings and check-mark unknown sources and then install the app.
That’s what my friend says anyway, ’cause he’s the one with the Fire.

you can tfr apks to your fire via usb, download, etc…doesnt matter how. then use es file explorer to run the apk..some work and some do not, depends on requirements of app. havent had much luck with the majority of the apps ive backed up and moved to the fire, dropbox works, but anything requiring a camera or gps does not
Answer #4
you can transfer files using a wi-fi network. something like websharing lite could do it.
Answer #5
I personal upload them to dropbox and download them on the kindle fire that way but to put dropbox on you need to install es file explorer from amazon appstore and then use usb and sideload apk to kindle and install with es file explorer.
