Anyone know why this happens and how to fix it.

December 2nd, 2013

So this happens at times and not sure why.
Sometimes when trying to play a movie via vlc-wmp or really any program. . . . the screen flickers for a second and it turns back to basic mode (i think its called) with no transparency or anything.
the video starts, but there aint no footage, only sound. As soon as i turn of the movie, the screen flickers again and goes back to normal mode with transparent video. Then i have to restart to be able to watch anything.
I thought this was just my old pc which was dying. . . But now ive gotten a new one which runs amazing and can play all games on high settings.
And still happens.-
So yeah. . . .Any idea what causes this and how to fix it?

always updated drivers- (also tried using driver genius to be sure at times) – Same screen as i installed win7 with yet a different screen that i used with my old comp.

you running any kind of non-standard theme ?
video uses directx to create the video overlay and those files should be included in your drivers
you uninstall the old drivers before installing the latest
if not try that
what video card do you have and what version are the drivers ?
