Any video software that makes iPhone 4 res of 960 x 640?

August 8th, 2016

Hi all, All my software will only make the old iPhone resolution when converting movies.
Does anyone know of new software that’s up to date with the iPhone 4? I’m after – 960 x 640.
Thanks, .
P.S – I want to use the full screen to maximum resolution – I know the others will play still Wink

iphone records in 720p right? You should be able to adjust the software settings of the video file to make it 960×640 before you convert. Dont use apple software. I use ‘total video converter’ to convert video files…i dont play around with res settings but you can adjust them.

Hi, None of the programs seem to have a profile which is for the iPhone 4.
Maybe I wasn’t clear, sorry – I mean – I want to convert my downloaded movies to play on my iPhone, but all of the software I have only allows 480 x 320, not the size I want…
So I need on with an iPhone 4 profile.
Cheers Wink

I would suggest MediaEspresso, if it doesn’t have a preset for the iPhone 4, I’m fairly certain that you can set a custom resolution.

I see it works on Win7 – but will it convert MKV’s?
Answer #19
windows 7 it works as admin… just set it in compatiblity tab.. and yeah works for mkv.. a friend of mine used to release movies encoded using handbrake..
Answer #20
Just use high profile h.264 with a max width of 960 for on-screen playback or 1280 if you plan on using it on a computer too.. wil work just fine..

I tried handbrake on a 1GB file and it came out bigger ans too 1.5 hours!
I need to batch convert heaps for an overseas journey – having trouble finding nice software that simple plays on the iphone 4 with crisp video and full screen…
I’ll try that “FreeMake”
