Android warez’d apps?
September 3rd, 2013

Of course not!
lol no
Any acronym such as lol.
The use of +1…+X within posts.
The use of an emote only reply (such as 😐 )
These are only guidelines not strictly limited to just these examples.

Ah ok. And on the subject of the apps, when it comes to safety, the app can’t do anything outside of it’s listed permissions right? I always thoroughly check app permissions but I’m unsure if a warez app would be somehow able to bypass it’s listed permissions.
no, the only thing you have to be careful of, is why they are asking for that permission.
the majority of the time, if you contact the developer,
the developer will tell you why the app needs it and it’s usually harmless (ads etc.)
in all seriousness, unless you start downloading porn apps from warez sites,
or you start grabbing heaps of apps, each from a different source, you probably won’t run into any major problems.
Install lookout mobile security on your phone for the extra sheet of protection, it’s not infallible, but it’s better than nothing,
it’s free and has some good features

Thanks. Just when it comes to phones, extra care is need since it’s they are not as easily fixed or replaced as a computer is. Is the likely hood of being caught relatively low? I just keep wondering if someone is looking over my shoulder (i.e Carrier IQ, the developer, Google etc).
Theres a very small chance, if any.
Keeping in mind, your not the first person to do these things..

Any suggestions on how to avoid being caught?
I knew I wasn’t the only person but I couldn’t find any guides or answers on how to do it or be safe when doing it.
Theres only 2 things you need to worry about
The first is viruses
Your answer is lookout mobile security
The second is rooting your phone
If u get caught with this, they void your warranty
The answer to this is unroot it before you put it in for repairs
xda-developers have tutorials on this for all phones
And you don’t even have to worry about this, once your phones warranty runs out
Does that help you?
So other than those two things, I’m pretty much 99% safe from getting caught?
My phones not rooted for safety and warranty reason, so I’m good on that front and I always check the permissions very carefully.
You’ll be fine, man. seriously
Everyone on xda-developers will tell u the same thing
Consider lookout mobile security, just to help put your mind at ease
No of course not reason to worry
no way for them to find out
Thanks guys. You’ve put my mind at ease. What about the ones that must connect to the internet though? I’m looking at GTA III but it requires internet connection to Rockstars site. Might they detect it’s warez? I’d rather not have to turn wifi/3g off everytime I want to play.
Most likely not.
