So I recently upgraded/switched from an Intel setup to an AMD Setup with a ASUS M4N98TD Motherboard and a AMD Phenom II X4 955 3.20 gHz, and one major difference I noticed between switching setups, is the on-board audio is completely different. I’ve used Realtek for 2 years, and I knew about Via coming with the new motherboard but… I’m not completely familiar with them.
Are there any major differences between the two on-board sound?

Realtek is MUCH better than Via. The sound quality is almost always better than Via, expecially since the Via drivers can sometimes be a bit dodgy
