Usenet, TorrentPrivacy, etc.

August 5th, 2016

When I search Torrent Reactor, some of the servers that are hosting will fall under Usenet and TorrentPrivacy. Both want you to sign up and pay. The problem I’ve had in the past is that when I’ve signed up, what I was looking for isn’t actually on the site, contrary to what my search results had shown.
Is this a common occurrence? TorrentPrivacy wants you to use buy a pass and download their software to make torrents safe. I use a proxy at times so I don’t see the point in wasting money on their software.

Answer #1
the police can get past proxies. probably. they’ve gotta. they’re not as dumb as that. why would people still get pre-lawsuit notices
Answer #2
maybe proxies but usenet is kindof legal i think (not sure but its still there so… gotta be) and usenet providers have ssl encryption and stuff so gotta be more secure. TorrentPrivacy on the other hand i dont know… thats just a proxy so…
Answer #3

Yep, this is a total scam to try and get you to sign up for sites/take your money. Two things to remember:
1) Bittorrent is free. You definetly do not need to pay for anything.
2) Usenet is a totally different method of filesharing and has no connection to bittorrent whatsoever. If you are interested in paying for usenet (also called newsgroups) access, a good place to start would be this guide:

Hope this helps
