Far Cry 2 – Mouse Lag

August 5th, 2016

I was wondering If anyone else has had this issue?
And is there anyway to fix it?
My video card drivers are fully up to date aswell

Answer #1
Did you mean the video stutters now and again?
Update to the nVidia driver Beta release…It was stuttering for me with DX10 and now everything is fine!

I get the same with ATI HD3850. Game runs for 12 seconds, then pauses for 4 seconds, then runs for 12 seconds and so on and so on. Even in the main menu with just the mouse cursor. Tried everything, installed the “ATI Far Cry 2 hotfix” but it did nothing, even tried a clean install of Windows. Same thing all the time. Very annoying.

I’ve read somewhere(trying to find it)…that a guy had success with reverting back to 8.9 and removing the hotfix.

I installed the beta drivers, didnt relly see an improvment, but i have noticed my game is running a lot smoother
Thanks Cougar

many thanks for those drivers. im running the latest nVidia gtx260 Maxcore graphics card, and even though benchmarks at 40FPS at 1680×1050, 8xAA all max, the game stops every few minutes for some unknown reason. hopefully this driver update fixes the problem.
Answer #12
Do you only have it ingame or also in the menu?
If you only have it ingame try enabling V-Sync, it makes the game smoother when looking to the right or the left, and loads when watching up or down if I’m not mistaking.

Mine was playing for 15sec. then pausing for 2sec. then play for 15sec. and so on. until I updated with those drivers after reading about it in another forum.
@ …I tried enabling V-Sync ingame and also “Forced on” in the nVidia control panel but this did not work for me but it might for others! The Beta drivers worked for me.

I’m gonna revive this…
Instead of other people, I have a not-so-common 9700M GT (someone bothered putting a 9600M in a laptop – ish performance), and FC2 works fine. However, I have mouse lag. I move the mouse and it kind of responds sluggishly.
Anyone have this problem, or is it my laptop? I have an Asus G50V.
