Xbox 360: Wave 4? What to do?

My Xbox 360 has patched firmware. I think its with iExtreme 1.5 or 1.51. I didnt flash it myself. I am already banned from Live, but that doesnt concern me.
Now i downloaded COD Modern Warfare 2, and it won’t run. It turns up as a DVD in the menu and shows only a Xbox 360 logo when it runs.
I have downloaded a activate disc, and followed the instructions and burned it to a regular verbatim DVD +R DL disc. After booting the Xbox with the activate disc, i putted the COD MWF2 game in, and it woudnt run either.
I have also tried the “Wave4 to Wave3” programe, and burned out a version after it patched. Nothing new happened.
Does anyone know how i can make Wave4 games work, without doing anything that includes opening my Xbox 360 and reflash the firmware?
You need iXtreme firmware 1.6, 1.61 or 1.51(Hitachi only). refer to ixtreme.net, you need to flash the drive with a computer with a Sata chipset.
Jungleflasher works well. Grab a set of firmwares from ixtreme.net after you find out what your DVD drive for the 360 is.
There are guides for each drive, as your drive is pre-flashed with a firmware, it makes flashing a bit easier in most cases.
You need to open your 360 using a very small flathead screw driver and get lots of Torx screw drivers. Dicksmith Electronics has some usually in stock.
I managed to flash my Lite-On from 1.5 to 1.6 and I reckon its pretty easy since I don’t need any key extracting devices such as the Maximus.
1.51 for Hitachi doesn’t need activation boot disk.
1.6 needs activation boot disk.
1.61 is said to not need any boot disk for wave 4.
If you don’t understand the mumbo jumbo, at least find out what 360 DVD drive you have and I’ll give you the instructions.

I have shipped my Xbox 360 to a repairguy who flashed my firmware. I have really no clue how to flash my Xbox360, so is there another option than reflash the firmware?
You could try the Wave 4 patching method, I couldn’t get it to work and wasted a dual layer in the process.
Flashing is very straight forward as jungleflasher has a GUI. Yours is either a Benq or Lite-On, they are different drives, Benq has one model and firmware.
Lite-On has 2 firmware revisions currently, denoted by 7, 8 or 9.
Each revision is flashed differently. Take off the faceplate and see if there is a yellow wire next to the drive, if you have that its a Lite-On.
If its a Lite-On, I am certain yours is a 7 since its about the right time. If its a Lite-On 7, you only need to power on with tray half-open. This means you hook up the drive to the computer powered off. Then you power on the 360 and open the tray. Unplug the DVD drive’s black power cable and push the tray half way in and connect the power back in.
Click dummy from iXtreme on Jungle Flasher and a few more steps. Its pretty straight forward. The only hard part of this flash is opening the 360, which is a pain for first timers.

Patch the game to wave 2/3 w/e with PPF O MATIC. then burn it to DVD DL.

All games from now are Wave 4, Wave 5 will be later maybe.
On firmware 1.6, you only need activate boot iso for other future wave games, so if this is true, you don’t need to update the firmware once you are 1.6 as long as you don’t go on live.
C4E has gone nuts and future flashing will cost money.
I have an xbox with the 1.51 fm and my nephew does too both are lite on drives but my question is the new left 4 dead 2 boots up on my xbox but on his it requires an update and wont let him play it both xboxes have been banned and the game has been patched to wave 3. Anyone knows how to get around this update or know of a program so the game will play on his xbox? Thanks in advance
You can update via those leaked fall 09 updates.
or just take the update of the disk and put it on a usb. Open the iso in winrar and extract $systemupdate. Make sure you do it eith the origional iso and not patched.

I paid to get my xbox flashed i dont want to get a flashed update since my xbox is banned anyway what i do is patch the games with wave 3 and they work im still on the 1.51 the problem is that on my nephews xbox it is asking for an update and it the same game boots up fine on mine. I wanted instruction on how to update by usb if possible and thanks.

it is possible. you have to get the New Xbox Experience Dashboard update. i dont have the link now since I’m at work. but just google it. download it to a usb drive and update and the game will work fine. get the fall 09 update as someone suggested.

I did what you guys are saying put the file on the usb and connect it to the xbox but the i dont see anything that allows me to select the usb from the xbox i see it when i go to videos or music but nothing shows up because it a neither one of those kind of files. i dont think its recognizing the usb. I mean the usb lights up but thats it.
