i have this copy of nfs undercover http://www.google.com?t=1837841&start=0
when installing the game after i put in the serial it asks me to insert disc to copy the files. why.

If you can choose a folder on screen “insert disc to copy the files”, choose your installition folder.
If you can’t, make an iso of your nfs game files, and mount it with a virtual drive,
then, try to install…
