Noob at movie cutting

August 5th, 2016

Hey, I have a movie of 700 MB and i have to cut some clips from that movie. I download so many softwares, none worked. Then i gave a try to boilsoft movie splitter. It worked fine. and saved my clips as AVI too. Now the problem is,
The length of my clip is 5 mins and its size is some 70+ MB.
I though AVI means, less size and more length. But its reverse now. Please name me some software which will cut clip from my AVI movie and produce the output as avi or anything that can work on windows. But the file size should be small.
Also one more thing, there is no such option to set the size of the video or resolution or bps or something like that in that software.
Thanks in advance. Will give you a kiss in return.

virtual dub and virtual dub mod both work like a charm

Yes. I tried that. Opened my clip in that saved as avi. after saving the file size was 5 GB.

I use sony vegas pro 8.0 to cut the clip and then render it in avi . But you must have some experiences , say codec , frame , etc to make the size of the clip small . But here is a simple tip for you . After you cut your clip with whatever progam , use “Total Video Converter” and convert it again to make it small.
Cheers

But as you are saying about Total Video Converter, I will give it a try first.

I think he meant Windows Movie Maker, really handy program for basic stuff on editting video files.
