Disabling a routers firewall reduce the lag in online gaming

would it
Answer #1
It might do, I see you are in the UK, see if your ISP does a fastpath connection (profile they will probably call it) as opposed to interleaved. If you have a stable connection, that would reduce lag.
*edit – depending on your line attenuation, you could see if they will reduce your SNR margin.
Decent ISP’s will allow you to change to a gaming profile in your on-line a/c settings (takes an hour for it to update) you can generally only do 3 changes per month. If your modem/router and ISP are compatible, you can alter the SNR with DMT tool.

Ask for help here before using this tool though, people will need to see your line stats, eg. Attenuation.
*unless you are on cable/BT Infinity (VDSL)
