Is this Macbook Pro tmeperature ‘normal’?

I’m streaming live TV, my fans are at 4,600 RPM and its hitting 90oC (194F).
It aint budging. Is this temp dangerous for long periods of time? Thanks.

It’s quite normal, macbooks get very hot. If it stays under 100 degrees C, your ‘cool’.

Segers, have you any online text that confirms that? On idle it hits 70oC, but this seems a little too excessive.

90C is no where near a safe temperature.

Yes, they do get hot, but they are build to handle it. Don’t worry
CPU will force shutdown when it hits about 110'C.
Average temperatures are anything from 48'C - 90'C. The fans in the new Unibody MacBook Pro's have more blades so create greater air flow - at 6000RPM with full CPU load, you probably won't peak over 90'C.

I binned Firefox, which was using 60% CPU when streaming flash videos. I’m back on Camino; using 9% CPU. FF needs to sort it out! Segers, thank you for your info, much appreciated.
