You should have made your title: “Is the a good gaming Laptop”.
The answer is NO, laptops aren’t made to be gaming devices. The Graphic chip is quite “old” but I guess it should be able to handle SCII.
Pretty decent config.
You should be able to play most new games on atleast medium settings
much better than mine
In fact,it is pretty good laptop.the proccessor is fast and the graphics card is very good too,it has DirectX 11 and Shader 5.0 You will definitely be able to play almost all new games on MAX settings.
Pretty solid but honestly unless you need the portability you’d be
better off buying a desktop,Not only you’ll get better parts
for less money but it’ll be a lot more comfortable to game on too.
A good laptop but there are more cheaper laptops and better laptops 5650 does not really cut it for gaming. Suggest go for rank 1 cards. And Dell is not really the brand for gaming laptop go MSI,ASUS affordable gaming laptop if you have more $$$ then go Sager/Clevo,Falcon,Alienware
HTH
Good Configuration
very nice config go for it
good laptop specs except the rubbish gpu
i have a 1100 AMd athlon laptop still. #FAILME

Not bad, don’t expect it to move mountains though!
Good Configuration, Dude!
thanks guys for the advice, this is a hp labtop, and those who say that the gpu is rubbish could you please explain.
^ If you are getting it for “gaming” purposes. It would suffice. But since its gaming. You need more GPU power than it would do. HD5650 is Somewhat Mainstream Performance. You should get 5850/5870/460/480/GTX260.
For reference it can play games at medium but no high specially the new ones.

Plus the gaming factor HP DV Series is not really the line on gaming. DV Series is for Business and Casual line. You should go those Gaming Series Line. You need a better cooling design.
i wouldnt buy hp for heavy gaming at all.i had many simular laptops from hp. all were hell. overheating issues, screen issues, sound problems..etc. if i were you,, leave the hp and try maybe alienware. theres pretty uptight for gaming. ^.^

What was that emoticon about? He WILL be able to play new games at max settings.Even I with much much worse laptop:HP DV5 dualcore 2.0ghz 3gb ram and nvidia 9600m gt can play games like protoype, battlefield bad comapany 2 and so on,on maximum shadows, details and resolution…
Decent build, i would go for something with a better graphics card if i was you.

You do realize Alienware is made by Dell?
Anyways, what about Toshiba new Qosmio line with the 460?
OHH dumb HP. I am also using HP laptop DV6 1319tx. Don’t buy HP laptop their battery are sucks. Buy DELL laptop you get better configuration in good price.

Almost the same as mine, you just have a 450 while I got a 430, and you got a bigger HD.
Dell has only purchased the Alienware. It is like about five years ago now,but NO,Alienware is not made by Dell,Dell just owns it,but both manufactures are making their products separately.
