Two Windows 7 x64 Issues

January 27th, 2020

I’m having two issues with my newly installed W7 x64.
The first issue is with my firewalls. I have two firewalls installed, the windows one and a McAfee one, neither firewall I can activate. When I try and activate my windows firewall I get “Windows firewall can’t change some of your settings. error code 0x8007042c” When I try and activate my McAfee one I just get a “One or more problems cannot be fixed because of an error.” Any solutions to why neither of my firewalls will activate?
The second issue is probably not really an issue but I’m just not sure what to use. I cannot install rapidshare manager because .net framework 2.0 does not support x64, so is there any manager I can use to download off rapidshare without manually going to each rapidshare page to start each download?
Thanks in advance

Hello, I use the orbit rich media downloader with flashgot for firefox for downloads, and the only thing you must do for it is to log into the premium page in your browser so you have the cookie. If you browse privately this means going to rapidshare/premiumzone each time you start your browser and logging in before you select the files to download.
As you have suggested I find Windos 7 x64 nothing but trouble, and am seriously considering downloading the 32-bit version as it seems to be much more widely supported and much less buggy.
I have had a BSOD about every 3rd day since installing 7 x64.
Are you running the firewall as administrater? Check your user account control and ensure you have all adiministrator priveleges.
Hope some of this is useful.
