Can’t acces external hdd through My Computer

Hi, my problem is that I scan a friends external hdd with AVIRA anti-virus to get rid of an infection it had, and now I can’t access it through My Computer.When I double click to open the hdd it gives me this error:

The only way I can access it, is by right clicking autoplay. This is in my windows XP laptop. In my windows vista desktop, it works fine. I can access through My Computer and everything. Can I format it and get rid of that error? Or that wouldn’t help at all? thanks in advanced.

windows cannot find XOAUsUF.exe which is a trojan which you can read about here

Well check your Laptop and desktop as you might have a virus now.
