CONVERTING MOVIES TO PS3

February 4th, 2020

I just recently got a PS3 and I’m trying to watch movies on it using my 2 GIG Flash Drive to transfer the files. My PS3 is not reading any of the file formats so I’m wondering if there’s a program I have to use to have the PS3 read the video? Any help is appreciated thank you.
Answer #1
use MKv2Vob or tsMuxer. to transcode them. it takes few seconds to complete job.
you can also set your PC to stream movies to PS3 using Tversity or other similar program
Answer #2
Use PS3 Media Sever to stream straight from your computer.

or Use TVersity
Answer #4
Dont use PS3 Media Sever or TVersity as they will waste your cpu cycles uneccesserly, Mux once with MKV2Vob and enjoy your files on any device or OS.
Answer #5
windows media player 11+ will also do the trick for you, however you’re limited to what file type/codecs that you are capable of streaming.
You might also see what codec you’re using. I haven’t had a ps3 in sometime now, but when i had mine I found it’s support for decoding was rather limited. Mostly divx, xvid.. etc etc.
Answer #6
I gave up with the usb stick and just burn em to disc if i have to or use the xbox, other thing to do is transfur the film to the ps3 harddrive in avi format or summit simple.
Answer #7
You can watch them (.avi’s) from a USB stick but when you go in the menu you have to select other media.
