XGD3 Need help

Hi, having a massive problem with burning XGD3 games i bought a iHas124 drive and got it flashed by my mate, and his drive works fine. Followed the guide on here on how to burn and also tried other guides but nothing seems to work. Keep having an error saying I/O error and check condition, i have wasted 8 Verbitim disks trying to burn Halo, if anyone could help me would be much appreciated.
Turned OPC On and also Off
Layer Break is on Calculate Optimal etc
