uTorrent lost track of all torrents :(
May 13th, 2021
(BSOD) & i had to restart my computer.
After restarting i launched uTorrent but i was shocked to see uTorrent window without any of my torrent. Its like i just installed uTorrent.
I had about 10 torrents in uTorrent, all were fully downloaded.
I noticed that the resume.dat file was truncated when i restarted my comp.
I think that has screwed everything.
So guys is there any way that i can get all my torrents back in uTorrent without manually adding them again?
1) redownload the same 10 torrent files.
2) open the torrent file using utorrent, utorrent will ask where to save the downloaded file.
3) save it where you previously downloaded the files(which you said no more appeared in utorrent). [b]REMEBERBER TO SAVE IT EXACTLY TO THE SAME LOCATION FOR THIS TRICK TO WORK.
5) your files will return now..
6) Do the above for each of the 10 lost torrentz
post back if the trcik works

Adding the torrents manually is gonna be tedious as i have downloaded different files at different locations.
Thanks for replying but is their any other way?
He is unlikely to need to re-download the 10 torrent files as they are likely to be on his harddisk wherever he downloaded them previously.
You will most likely find that whichever part was being uploaded when the BSOD occurred will be corrupt and will require re-downloading. That is unless you disabled last access timestamp. If you do this then the files should be okay.
When you open the torrent file again and set the download location to the same place as your downloaded files are it will re-check the downloaded files and show if you have everything still. I doubt you will, you will find that several percent will require re-downloading.
I disable last access timestamps using Registry tweaker to stop windows from opening the files for writing. That way they do not become corrupt if a BSOD occurs.

10 torrents are not going to take long to re-select. Your uTorrent data files are corrupt so you have no choice unless you make backups next time.
Oh, I forgot i had made a backup of the uTorrent folder a month back.
Now i copied that folder back to the location & most of my old torrents are back!
I’ll manually add the new ones.
Thanks for replying guys.
I bet you still have some corrupt data in the downloads themselves as it used to happen to me when my PC BSODed. That was until I disabled the last access timestamp and now it does not happen.
Try forcing a recheck on the torrents to see what I mean.

I forced recheck on 4-5 torrents & they dont have any corrupt data
