Just search for 7-Pass HDD erasing on Google, its the military standard. I had a programme that did it that I found on here but I forget the name, a quick search will dig it up.
Edit: Found it!
BCWipe

So all HDD erase or wipe software does 7-Pass HDD erasing so that the buyer cannot recover the data back from HDD? and is BCWipe better or Lavasoft Privacy Toolbox?
Answer #12
They are all pretty much the same they use various algorithms allowing between 3 and 35 passes.

Would it have killed you to spend 2 mins on google instead of asking
the same question multiple times? Seriously They all support 7 pass (depending on the wipe method used)
Lavasoft Toolbox is out of the equation because it’s not intended
for this use,Its for plain file~ Folders are not allowed ~ wiping and isn’t bootable so..
IMO you’d be best using DBAN,Boot and start it in interactive mode
then use the RCMP method (8 pass) do note it’d take
hours over hours to complete.

I’ve heard good things about dariks boot and nuke (DBAN)

Darik’s Boot and Nuke – DBAN

Answer #15
Do I need to download DBAN ISO and burn it on CD and then boot it up with my HDD?
Answer #16
My DVD/CD drive doesn’t work properly, sometimes I put a disc in and it recognize it and sometimes don’t so I can’t use Active@ Kill or DBAN, I have downloaded BCWipe and Lavasoft Privacy Toolbox but don’t know how to work it out to erase my HDD with 7-Pass HDD erasing
Answer #17
Put DBAN on a flash drive,Follow this guide:
http://www.pendrivelinux.com/install-dban-to-a-usb-flash-drive-using-windows/
Do backup any important data on the flash drive (if any) before doing this.
Set the boot order accordingly in bios (USB HDD or the flash drive as first)
It’ll take hours over hours so ideally you’d wanna do this at
night just before you goto bed,I strongly recommend you Disconnect the other HDDs first to be on the safe side. After booting hit ENTER to start DBAN in interactive mode,Select the HDD using the keyboard arrows (unless you disconnected the other ones) then press SPACE to mark it to be wiped and press M
to select the method,Select the 2nd one (RCMP) hit ENTER and press F10
to start wiping. (Note:If the HDD is not recognized by DBAN,Look for an SATA settings
in bios and set it to IDE mode or turn off RAID,When done wiping return it the way it was otherwise windows might hang)
