Sound Drivers… How to find?

August 20th, 2018

hi, i got a old computer which im giving away, and i need to install sound drivers on Windows Xp Sp3.
512mb ram so it cant handle vista.
i tried installing a few realtek drivers but still no sound.
if i go on device manager i does not show any sound devices with names, just says unknown device or something (have to take plugs of this computer and put on other which can be annoying)
thanks for the help.

Answer #1
try a program like driveragent (it could be you need a paid version to install the drivers but it think the free version gives the name of the devices)
Answer #2
assuming its an onboard audio, just use pcwizard or everest ultimate
to determine the motherboard model, then get into the manufacturer site
and find it by the model,if its an expansion card then open up the case
and take it out temporarly to see whats printed on it..
Answer #3
Use Everest, or use CPU-Z. You can download both of them from here
