Promoting/Advertising my site

I was just wandering if anyone has any special tricks they use to advertise/promte their site for free, i have already submitted my site to about 40 search engines. What else would you recommend?

Probably, the most important aspect of promoting sites is Meta tags. You must have very good and accurate Meta tags in your script (<meta>). It’s an HTML tag and it can be used to do a lot. Basically the two most important ones are Description and Keyword. It basically tells the search engines what to list

Meaning that if you have good meta tags you will get more hits on Google and other search engines and the more hits the better for you. Another aspect of promoting your site is the Pagerank. It’s Google’s official ranking system. Every few months Google updates it’s servers and indexes and a sites Pagerank is also updated. The better your Pagerank, the more visitors you will be getting. Basically what do you need to do to get a higher page rank? You need to have as many sites linking to your own but not just any sites, you need good sites to link to you, sites with a high PageRank. The higher that the Pagerank of a site linking to you is the more credit you get for it That’s about it, good luck mate ^_^

was going to suggest that place, its quite good.
Most search engines have moved on from Robot texts, but they still implement them so its always good to have one – you can tell the search engine crawlers to visit specific pages on your site, or not to visit other specific areas.
Also this site helps you (im not sure how effective it really is, but it was set up for me so im not complaining )
