How to convert this .mkv file…?

February 2nd, 2020

I downloaded some .mvk video files, and 4 or the videos work with k-lite codec pack played on wmp, but 3 don’t work. The converter also reads the first 4 fine, but for some reason it doesn’t read the last 3, whereas VLC does and plays the video fine…
How can I convert these “non-reading files” into avi or dvd extensions when the converter and wmp for some reason don’t read them? (and yes the converter supports .mkv files).
thanks in advance for any help

For some reason I have the same problems with some videos that are mkv. I think sometimes when you extract or download the video file gets messed up. Try extracting again, sometimes this fixes the files.

mkv is just a container, so technically you can put any type of video compression in an mkv file. It depends on what compression someone has used and put in the mkv file. Once you know that you can find an appropriate converter to convert it to a different format (you could probably keep it as mkv even). VLC can tell you info about the video codec, post it here and i’m sure there’ll be hundreds of apps to convert that format.
