1G iPod Touch Bluetooth?

August 5th, 2016

Browsing through my iPod’s system files looking for something, cant remember what, when i stumbled upon a folder containing a load of bluetooth stuff?
Is this, as the rumours say, a disabled bluetooth chip waiting to be activated?
Or is this just apple copying the software straight from the iphone without bothering to delete the bluetooth section? Cos i can’t think of another reasonable explaination
Thoughts guys?

Answer #1
the ipod touch and the iphone contain almost exactly the same system software, i think they were just lazy and left it in. the chip that does the bluetooth on the iphone is the same one that does the cell phone signal, which is obviously missing on the touch

i’ll email apple or something and see if they can clear it up, probably won’t reply if its a ‘surprise’
they might be trying to be nice by adding a feature they didnt tell us about, you never know
