How big screen-resolution does the Acer’s screen have?
Which one has the best graphics card? Thanks a lot for all help in advance!
Dell… Much better than crappy Acer
I fully agree with this one I know out of experience that Acer’s support is also far from good…

Beside Macbook Pro HP and Dell are the BEST!
acer dell suck ass i know loads of people who have problems with dell and there customer service is ~love~
Based on the processor, RAM screen resolution, I’d say the Dell was a better laptop but you can get problems with Dell components as many people know, there are so many stories and occurances with Dell systems, if every complaint was mailed to their head office, they wouldn’t be any room for cars to park – the place would be overflowing with hatemail and refund requests!
Don’t let the rumors get to you, if you buy your Dell, brand new from a certified store you should get a guarantee and not EVERY Dell crashes, not EVERY Dell has exploding batteries, and not EVERY Dell is cursed and you will get a refund.
Although, I’d look at some other competing laptops in the same price bracket, Samsung, Toshiba and ASUS have some pretty nice laptops.
Go for Dell. I dont have good things with acer’s they are crap.
2nd is better specwise. I just laughed at”Insertbrandname here” (Acer, Dell, etc) comments; their customer support depends on the country, current policies, nature of the problem and even the mood of the person handling the service on company’s side.
This is not regarding customer service, lol… My moms company all had Dell computers. The guy who did all the computer work (built the network, fixed computers, etc, etc.) for my moms company said they seriously blow. He has a degree in computer engineering. He knows his stuff and I consulted with him before I bought the computer I just did. With that being said, I don’t think Acer is much better. Honestly, the computer is only as good as the components and the factory it’s being assembled in. Furthermore, all computers eventually run into problems and you’re going to have to deal with them. In that case, if you are going the route of the cheaper computer or have doubts, it is good to buy an extended warranty or at least make sure it has a good manufacturers warranty. Are you buying it from a store? Most retailers like best buy sell their own insurance, which I highly recommend. In most cases of malfunctioning or messed up computers that you have a service plan with you can take it in a swipe it out for a brand new one. I also don’t like Dells propriety way of business. Only Dell components work with Dell and you can only buy Dell from Dell.
I one time bought a “brand new” $1000 HP laptop and took it home, was all excited, booted it up…. NO OS INSTALLED…. wtf? Had to take it back the next day because they were closed for the day… No matter what computer you buy, it IS going to ALWAYS have problems.
Now about customer service, I have learned you have to be demanding when on the phone with customer service. After I get off the phone, I’m usually left not knowing what the hell just happened, regardless of me telling them my problem and what I’ve done to try to fix it. My mom then calls back and is very demanding of their “service” and she usually gets the freaking problem I been on the phone with them for the past week figured out in 10 minutes……. Women……
Honestly, the computer is only as good as the components and the factory it's being assembled in.
All laptops use much or less the same internal parts (Intel/AMD processors, generic mobos/branded mobos that are produced all on the same couple of factories, Nvidia/ATI GPUs, same optic drives, same HDs)
What makes the price difference is the brand name, quality of the chassis, and sometimes the screen (which again may come from the same source).
get the dell it would make an little gaming laptop
Thanks a lot for you responses!
Yes, I’ll buy it from a store – they are trying to get rid of Windows Vista-computers so that why it’s so cheap.
