CoD4: Modern Warfare crashing when joining a server

I can not get in any server in CoD 4 multiplayer. When I connect to a server it advances to the loading bar it’s loading like 20% of the bar so: |____…………………….| but then it keeps loading but nothing happens. Oh well something happens, after I decided that the loading was taking too long to get in the server, I tried going back to my desktop. Unfortunately I could only get back to my desktop by ending the game via ctrl+alt+delete. CoD 4 seems to crash everytime I connect to a server.
When I startup it also says if I want to run CoD 4 in safe mode because it wasn’t shutdown properly last time. Which is caused by the fact that I had to close it via task manager.
Hope you can help me…
I read something about a problem with cod4 and realtek HD audio, the solution was to plugin a microphone when joining a server. The problem is that I do not have a microphone.

did u download full or skullptura rip if its a rip den get full no other choice

Some people have reported the patches are the culprit , 1.7 may totally freeze, but other patches experienced similar kind freezing(at one point temporal , trr for one sec then continue)
If this is the kind of the freeze you guys are experiencing than this is it.
