Installing Windows 7

i have a secondary hard drive(no system) with important files on it, is it possible to intall windows 7 on that drive without losing my files?
backing up my files on an external hd is not an option.

i dont think thats possible in any world.

Except (funny enough) if theres aalready a OS on that drive , which it didnt sound like.
