HELP ME! Can’t install Windows 7 to my USB

August 4th, 2013

I’m having trouble trying to install my ISO to my USB using the “Windows 7 USB DVD Download Tool. When I select on the ISO, USB Device, then Begin Copying, it says “We are unable to copy your files. Please check USB device and ISO file and try again”
My USB is 8GB and the Windows 7 ISO is 3.7 so I don’t know why it’s not letting me.
Is it my ISO file or something else? Please help me!

a few things to try
check the format of the usb drive
ntfs format will hold single files 4gb and up. yours is probably fat32 format
to fromat the usb:
start / computer / r click on the usb select format / choose ntfs
or
try to right click and run the usb tool as administrator

I had the same problem with Windows 7 USB DVD Download Tool .. I used
http://www.isotousb.com/
That worked fine and with fat32, must select bootable ISO image
Answer #4
xboot might work for you
otherwise RandomNooob’s suggestion will do exactly what you want
Answer #5
If no tools work, just do it yourself. I do it this way all the time.

Answer #6
Yes, try pendrivelinux, I have actually had some success with that on this old PC which is hard to get it to flash drive boot !
Another app. is Wintoflash..
http://wintoflash.com/home/en/
All these apps will format your flash drive for you as required .So no need to change the format.
Answer #7
Try with UltraISO, i use it without problems.
Answer #8
are you just copying the iso to usb? or are you trying to install in usb
if you are installing it will need 16 gb freespace in the usb key
booting from usb is a different issue.
