Answer #8

Answer #9
u must be logged in your MU account (Firefox or IE) and then try
Answer #10
Do you have a Megashare premium account? If not, then i think you cannot use a download manager to download megashare files with.
Id also change the site login to just
http://www.~ Dead file host ~
rather than the url you have shown in the screen shot.
code tag fixed~Search

Answer #12
You didn’t even put in a Megaupload or whatever premium account login. How do you expect it to resolve that URL you put in to the file on that page?

You need a MegaUpload premium account to download with download managers. Same with RapidShare and all other file hosters that have premium services.

Why dont you use FlashGet? Much better and easier…
P.s. ( If you have premium then Use FlashGet or IDM , but if you dont then use JDownloader )
Answer #15
thanks
Answer #16
Ok im having the same problem too i have a rapidshare account some file come down ok but others come down as a HTML whats going on im using IDM also and downloading RS links
Answer #17
DON’T put any site logins for Rapid8 in IDM… They are only for when you have your own premium accounts wit Rapidshare, Megashare , etc..
You should start your downloads normally via your browser and Rapid8 website…
Then you may be able to add links with IDM as suggested in the authors post..
http://www.google.com?t=2472849&highlight=
EDIT
Am downloading at the moment from Rapid8….3 RS links via IDM and 1 RS link and 1 MU link just using firefox…getting about 35kB/sec on each ,so total is about my speed limit..(all downloading simultaneously)..
But did note that each link is not resumable and am getting only a single stream from each with IDM….So using IDM does not really give much advantage in this case..
Answer #18
If i’m reading this right, people are telling the OP to get rid of IDM because THEY prefer other software?
Hmmm..
OP – if you use IDM and have an (RS/MU) premium account you only have to be logged in with a cookie to the Rapidshare site, NO DETAILS have to be put in IDM.
If you don’t have a premium account, you can’t use IDM effectively.
Put some comments up to where you are up to, i’d personally stick with IDM as I’ve had 3 years trouble-free downloading

thanks for your input but why do i get HTML files?
Answer #20
HTML files normally indicate a dead link. You can confirm/try this by copying into your browser and seeing if the link is alive

yeah they are alive. i even got the game i wanted from the links i was trying to use. i didnt use IDM though
Answer #22
That’s right…Without a premium account you can’t download the link directly…will just end up with a short html file..You have to go via Rapidshare website and wait or try doing the link via Rapid8…
Answer #23
This only happens to me if for example, I remove my cookies and wipe the RS one, any link I grab with IDM is HTML until I log into RS.

No, but you have to go to the Rapid8 site to start the download of each file..
Go to the their site, bookmark it, and it’s easy to get to and then paste in the link you want to download..
You have to put one link in at a time, but then you can go straight back there and put in another one….they can then be downloading simultaneously which you can’t do from rapidshare itself as a free user..
Now having said all that..let’s hope the site is still up and running
I’m assuming here that you don’t have a Rapidshare premium account..
If you do then you don’t need the services of Rapid8 and you can do like says below..
Answer #26
The only thing I would not do is setup a login password for Rapidshare. It is unnecessary. In fact remove it. Go to rapidshare and login to your premium account. Allow your browser to save your password. It will set a cookie on your computer. On the rapidshare site, make sure you enable direct downloads. IDM will take it from there. Same for Mega but I don’t think there is a option you set for direct downloads. It just sets a cookie and you are good to go. As stated above, if you get just the html, the file doesn’t exist.

Answer #28
IDM is terrible. I have been trying it as people say it was good but after using it I think it is very poor. Flashget is still the best but unfortunately it doesn’t work well with RS which is the reason I tried IDM.

Flashget isn’t better for RS, it wastes piles of bandwidth while downloading, far more than is actually downloaded. But I do like Flashget, the interface is better than anything else I have seen. It’s nice having the option to enter different log in info in the download window which is needed for more than 1 RS account.
