My TB harddrive is sick. Please help!

August 7th, 2016

Ive got an external hard drive that i store 700+ movies on it.
Every time when i try and play a movie on my hard drive the video keeps on pausing and starting etc at certain parts of the movie. It happens with most of my movies on the hard drive.
Ive tried copying 2 movies to my hard drive which both took for ever, which was just like playing the movie it paused then started etc while copying. But then i tried copying another movie, that just froze up at around 30%. The red light went on the hard drive and eventually it would disconnect by itself and im forced to reset my harddrive.
My hard drive is a western digital 3.5 inch hard drive enclosed in an external case. Ive had it for over a year and it has never given me this trouble before.
When i run chkdsk in cmd it works with a /f. But when i try and run a full scan of checking and fixing bad sectors it stops at 10%, the red light lights up and eventually (just like the copying) it would disconnect by it self and im forced to reset my harddrive.
Plllease help! What shall i do to save my movies?
