weird laptop battery question

is there any sort of device out there that can test laptop batteries? like a universal dock or something?
I ask as I was give about 20 dead laptops (with no chargers) and want to see if the batteries can still hold a charge, I assume the motherboard is fooked in most of them, some have damaged screens. But they have been sitting around a while and im afraid some of teh batteries may have went.
How can I test?

send them to me. have you tried pressing the button that is usually on the battery and checking the flashing light codes?

i doubt there is a universal dock because each laptop brand is so competitive they dont want their batteries to be interchangeable, they’d rather you pay for a new one of theirs.
