[SOLVED] Flash works on IE 9 (64-bit), not on IE 9 (32-bit)

August 8th, 2016

I have Windows 7 64-bit. I followed the steps in installing Flash on 64-bit for Internet Explorer. However, in some cases I need Flash to work on my 32-bit Internet Explorer and it simply isn’t working. I downloaded the manual (silent) flash installer which was 64 bit and the site states that when you install the 64 bit version, the 32 bit installer will also be installed. This is correct, however when I go to for example a flash site it won’t work in my 32-bit Internet Explorer. The thing that confuses me is that it shows up in my add-ons in 32 bit Internet Explorer and it is enabled but nothing that requires flash works!
For example, when I’m on my internet explorer 64-bit browser, I go to download and install flash. I proceed to download it and when I double click to install, the installer just deletes itself?? This is so weird, I tried the same with the 32-bit browser and it won’t download at all. The only way I got flash to install for internet explorer was by visiting the archived downloads page and downloading the full zip file, however after this, Flash only works in 64-bit internet explorer not 32-bit internet explorer. I have tried absolutely everything from using the uninstaller, removing program files then reinstalling again but still no fix! Surely, someone can help. Does anyone have a solution please, because I have tried everything, including using the uninstaller and downloading a variety of versions.
Thanks.

“the installer just deletes itself”
That is something like Web installer…..
Well, not sure.
I have Only 32 bit version of flash and it works fine with internet explorer 64-bit.
Did you tried to have only 32 bit version of flash.

I used the offline installer and it installed both the 64-bit and 32-bit versions of flash, it works fine in my 64-bit internet explorer browser but it should also work on the 32-bit internet explorer browser but it doesn’t. Does it work for you? So I know if it’s just me?

I forgot to ask, do you have ActiveX installed
If not install it:
http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html
You will see, it says:
“Download the Windows Flash Player 11.5 ActiveX control content debugger (for IE) (EXE, 15.7MB)”
You need that. If you have it then don’t know.
Well, at least I need it, but it is weird that you can run flash on X64 IE but not on 32bit version.
Why are you using both version, one version is enough I think.
IF PROBLEM NOT SOLVED, TRY TO DOWNLOAD PORTABLE VERSION.
Cheers
