What does part 1 , part 2, ect. mean?

On a lot of downloads, they come in parts (Like part 1 download, 2, and so on). Does this mean I have to download all the parts, then extract them to one folder? I’m confused here!

yes you need all of the parts. winrar archives are usually either part1.rar, part2.rar, part3.rar, etc. or .rar, .r00, .r01, etc. to extract open part1.rar or the .rar file.
you might also come across files that have been split with hjsplit, they will be .001, .002, .003, etc. however, this extension can also be a winrar archive.
