wmpc VS vlc
February 5th, 2020
vlc has been my main choice for about 6 years now…plays everything i throw its way…ive recommended it to so many people
cool are there any settings you use to enhance your video playback? quality/audio? i noticed in media player classic it has a video render setting tab. with color correction, after hitting this everything looked much more vibrant. so im guessing there are ways in both to make my rips look better
kmplayer/potplayer. Way better than both of them.
VLC because plugins etc.
I use KM Player because it seems to work with my capture card better, and because I have a personalized skin for it that matches the rest of my system.
Having said that, VLC is the player I would recommend to most others because KM Player tries to install a bunch of bloatware, and is a pain in the neck to install. VLC is just as good of a player as far as I am concerned with out the garbage. Media Player classic is ok too but it is very “plain” in appearance.
VLC is quick
VLC has 100% self contained codecs, you just install and use.
Anything else will require you download your own codecs.
So I strongly recommend VLC over anything else anyone has suggested.

nope
both PotPlayer & “Media Player Classic” are self contained, no extra codec D/L needed
I use Zoom Player myself, as I like the control, but PotPlayer is the one I recommend to those that need an all in one player
PotPlayer is the one I recommend to those that need an all in one player
My only beef there is I have used PotPlayer and had issues with some video formats not showing up properly during playback.
Played the same video on VLC and it looked perfect. This happened a couple times before I switched back to VLC =/
I have to agree with on this one…ive tried to use the pot player which is great but the VLC gave me better playback results on certain video formats ( could have just been my pc) and vlc is like a 20mb download and its not bloated or asking you to install the ask tool bar or any of that other crap that so much software includes today and updates regularly
had issues with some video formats not showing up properly during playback.
had this happen to me too, with VLC, that’s why I don’t like it
vlc is like a 20mb download
PotPlayer is around 15mb and is a clean install as well
For anything under 2.5GB, I use Gom player. Anything over, I use PowerDVD, and anything over 40GB, I use VLC.
Apart from self contained plugins, what are the advantages of vlc and/or wmpc ?
I used to use KMPlayer, it was great, even better than VLC in my opinion. But now I just use the WMP codec pack, working well.
are there any settings that you vlc users use to enhance your video playback?
