make a list of the apps and things u want to do , including stuff u already have on other pc’s which u might want to continue to use ,plus your home network devices which u share , any other external devices u might want to connect to , and so on …. then check to see if they will all fit and run with the new purchase … that might be helpful …

it would seem that what you will need most is a fast cpu ,plenty of ram ,and storage … the Toshiba wins on cpu and ram { i think the apple is only 4Gb } … not sure if 128Gb storage will be enought for your music and sound projects , u will have to figure that out …. you will need to decide if W7 or W8 is best for you , but realise that W8 is a new learning curve … you will also need to check that your programs run in 64 bit mode ( to be able to use the Gb ram ) …
unless you might need a portable pc to carry around the programs, then maybe you could consider buying a tower to which u could add more internal and external storage ,and more ram if needed ,and also u could have a higher res monitor , hope this helps … let us know what you decide
Answer #7
it’s a difficult decision because it’s 1300 euros :\ ….. well as long as it consernes storagge i will use external HDD. About the W7 or W8, toshiba has W7 preinstalled which is something i prefer. I want the one i will choose will be stable and pretty fast for the next 5++ years…
Answer #8
external hdd is slow , especially if using as virtual ” live” device … altho usb3 is a lot faster than usb2, does Z930 have usb3 ports ? … can you ask yr supplier about more internal storage ,or a second internal ?…
i agree W7 is better , but wud be best if you have supplier install as 64bit with 64bit drivers , this will enable W7 to access more than 4Gb ram … but do suggest you check with your music software source about compatability with 64bit now and in future ….
Answer #9
toshiba has preinstalled w7 64 bit…… now for the internal driver i think you can replace it with more space….but external hdd will be used since i have almost 1 tb of music…….
Answer #10
