Over Clocking a AMD 6 Core
August 2nd, 2016
New here hoping someone could offer some assistance i have the AMD 6300 6 Core 3.5ghz and am using the stock heat sync
Someone said i can over clock it but the heat sync amd supply is not very good and i shouldnt trust it with over clocking.
I have had a look on the internet but alot of people say fan doesnt fit some motherboards, touches RAM sticks etc so im in abit of a mess and dont know what im looking for
Wondering 1. How do i over clock my CPU 2. Does over clocking depend on your motherboard as my motherboard is a few years old so dont want to risk burning anything out
3. Can anyone recommend a heat sync which will keep my CPU cool when over clocking it
I have the N68C-GS FX motherboard and running a evga gtx 660 2gb super clocked g card with it
Not going to get anywhere with that motherboard.
so im either best upgrading my motherboard or leaving it at 3.5 ghz ?
Also depends on the case airflow, power supply, cpu cooler.
The motherboard has its voltage regulation circuitry.
In the case of your motherboard, it is only a 3 phase voltage regulation and the mosfets have no heatsink, they are also outdated components.
The auxiliary power is only a 4-pin suggesting limited power delivery (if its high enough, the 4-pin would melt).
