What Photoshop Document Size Shall i Use for an ID Card?

Hi, Can anyone help me choose a photoshop documents size for designing and ID card? The actual dimensions of the ID card are 8.5cm length X 5.5cm breadth, and when i select the 8.5×5.5cm document size in photoshop, the logos become way too big when i paste them from another pictures… Can i select a bigger Size of the photoshop Document and paste those logos and design the ID card and then print the ID card on an 8.5cmx5.5cm card? Also, if i use a 8.5cmx5.5cm document size in photoshop and resize the logos to the size i want them to be, they become unreadable and crappy..

Start a new image the size of the ID. ID’s are 3.375 inches wide by 2.125 inches tall. From the File menu click New. Change the units drop down menu from pixels to inches. In the width box type 3.375 and in the height box type 2.125. Depending on the quality of the images you plan to use on your ID, you may want to increase the resolution to 200 to 301 pixels/inch. While increasing the resolution will make the ID appear larger on your screen, its printed size will remain the same.

Why don’t you just resize the logo down to fit the card after pasting?
