difference between pirated software and licensed one

January 29th, 2020

Is there a difference to the way the program performs between a licensed program and a cracked one. I keep hearing Solidworks if its cracked the models will have rebuild errors
Answer #1
Generally (if not always) the pirated version of a software performs exactly as it would if it was purchased.
Answer #2
It depends.
If something is cracked properly then NO.
If something still has deeply hidden checks, then YES.
If something has an online part to it (like Diablo 3 or Whitesmoke has) then YES, possibly.
If something has a good crack then you also have the benefits of not having the online checks or background tranfsers, etc – games have no CD checks or other DRM crap.

So – it it’s done properly then a cracked program is the same, possibly better.
It’s possible that Solidworks has part of the DRM in the routines that make up the “rebuild” parts – cracking the DRM might alter the “rebuild” if the crack is not done properly.

I have a portable IDM. Since i don’t have admin rights, when i install it, it says there’s a file missing and it won’t integrate. So it must have something to do not so much the cracking of it, but making it portable. As it does seen to work properly if installed with admin rights. So as said above it depends.

IDM uses it own “network driver”, a sort of injector to catch the downloads properly and force youtube to not segment it’s videos.
That might be what’s not getting installed properly.

Thanks , that does sound right as without admin rights when that download video from youtube pops up i’ll get an error. With admin rights it works. So my problem is more a portability one than not cracked correctly. As i’ve tried a few versions and they’re all like it.

I’d agree, more a portability thing than a bad crack.
The driver goes into windows/system32, maybe the portable missed the driver or maybe the program hard-code looks for it in windoes/system32 (rather than a virtual folder).

I just wish it could be fixed, well not so much fixed as probably not broken as most wouldn’t have to worry about admin rights like i do. But there are some links i can’t grab because it won’t integrate and i can’t integrate it with any portable browsers either
Answer #8
so technically there shouldnt be a problem then
Answer #9
Like I said – it depends on the crack.
Even the best cracker groups can make mistakes and miss some “hidden” time-bombed DRM thing.
Answer #10
All you can really do is try them and see. They aren’t easy to crack, plus the makers know they’re being cracked so they try new ideas to combat it.

some guy was telling me that cracked solidworks has rebuild errors but i havent found anything. Also I got a legit key so technically mine is not cracked. I guess its just speculation
