How To Find The Security Network Key
August 5th, 2013
Nope…If you set it up yourself you should know what it is…If somebody else set it up…Ask them..
You can reset the router trough the reset switch in the back and set a new key..
If your old PC has wifi connected use this to find out the key.

sure there is. first hook ur laptop with ethernet. log in to your router and check wifi settings. you should be able to see the password
Even if you login to the router..You won’t be able to see the key..It will be encrypted..
And to change it you need to supply the current key..

I’d use this way.
The key shouldn’t be “encrypted” it should be in plain text.

Not necessarily, from my own experience NetGear routers tend to have the Wireless Key in plain text in the “Wireless settings” of the router.
Even if it was “encrypted” you could probably see it using Behind Asterisks

my belkin router shows bullet points not the actual key, but the wireless-key program linked shows the actual key. Very nice! Thank you.
My box (Orange broadband) has the security key on a sticker on the bottom of the box.
@Saturnsid I actually got it to work too by entering the WEP from my modem.
But I want to upgrade my laptop to x64 bit, does any one know if this would effect the settings and wireless connection presets for my lap top
There were presets like Netgear on it ?
But I am asking would installing a new Windows 7 affect the Wireless connection on my laptop, maybe I need to get a Windows 7 for a laptop .
